With the help of a specific electrical current that is applied to the skin with an applicator, active ingredients are delivered deep into the tissue. These active ingredients can be e.g. NSAIDs such as diclofenac or ibuprofen, lidocaine and derivatives, steroids but also other anti-inflammatory substances.

The application is pleasant and completely painless for the patient, studies have shown that the active ingredient concentration at a depth of 1 cm is still 99% of the initial value, relevant concentrations can even be found at a depth of 6 cm.
